Maroomba Airlines Earns Eight National Award Nominations
Maroomba Airlines has been named a finalist in eight categories of the 2025 Australian Aviation Awards, recognising both company-wide transformation and individual excellence across the team.
The Western Australian airline is in the running for Airline of the Year – Domestic, Safety Innovator of the Year and Training and Mentorship Program of the Year, while Chief Executive Officer Laura Benger has been shortlisted for Executive of the Year.
Four team members have received individual nominations: Alex Altus (Professional Pilot of the Year), Richard Smith (Aviation Safety Professional of the Year), Celine Lakay (Female Leader of the Year – SME) and Lauren Garcia (Rising Star – SME).
The announcement caps off a milestone year for Maroomba, which included a 33% fleet expansion, the rollout of a new leadership framework, and its role as the first Australian airline to join CEOs for Gender Equity.
These achievements build on four decades of trusted partnerships with clients across the resources, charter and remote sectors – relationships that continue to shape Maroomba’s journey.
Winners will be announced at a gala event in Sydney in August 2025.
